Proanthocyanidins are potent natural antioxidants which belong to a class of polyphenols. Thees grape seed extracts were tested to see their effects on skin flap survival in laboratory rats. After one week of observation, flap survival was significantly higher in the group treated with grape seed extract compared to the control group, suggesting that these extracts may help the body protect itself against injury and aid in repairing damage.
